A recap of the Charleston Fashion Week Finale. Anna Toth, who was brought back into the competition tonight unexpectedly, was up first. Her collection was perhaps the most casual of the five collections, with denim pieces, crop tops and large, exposed zippers. Then there were the Plante sisters, whose last name fit the theme of their collection. Each model donned some sort of delicate flower or shrubbery in her hair, and earth tones were central to the collection. Third competitor tonight was Kaitlyn Machos, the sole South Carolina-based designer of the finalists. Her collection of evening wear was inspired by broken glass, a theme that has characterized Machos' past struggles in life. Her car was broken into in college, and another friend got into a car accident recently. Perhaps that's what the high-low hems and sparkly fabrics came in. The last two finalists were very distinct from the rest, as they both had a darker focus. Angela Bacskocky featured deep reds, blues and dark tan. Her collection was very fall, with fur and leather accents throughout. Finally we saw Deanna Ansara, who presented a very black collection, which offered up a lot of draping. After the intermission, we'll see featured designer Timo Weiland, then the judges will announce their pick for this year's Emerging Designer. Also looking forward to hearing who the crowd chose for the People's Choice for the best runway show tonight.
